Workshops and Training

Our Women’s health and Leadership Skills Training (WHLST), in partnership with www.forwarduk.org.uk, aims to empower women from Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) affected communities to become health leaders and agents of change within their communities.

The training is designed to increase essential skills of confidence, assertiveness, self-esteem, communication, leadership among others and to offer a safe supportive space for women to share experiences, information and support each other. The participatory nature of the training delivery and safe space allows women to talk about a taboo subject, examine their own socio-cultural and religious beliefs, values, question and answer why FGM in a non-judgemental environment.

“The training gave me the opportunity to reflect my own culture and equipped me with the knowledge and skills to help myself and my community” Trainee

We will be running two more training sessions in 2022. To find out more about them, get in touch with us.
